Mittarfeqarfiit becomes AWG-sponsor
Mittarfeqarfiit, Greenland Airports, have signed a Nanoq-sponsor agreement with Arctic Winter Games 2016 (AWG2016). The sponsorship absolves domestic traveling athletes in Greenland for airport charges. Simultaneously, Mittarfeqarfiit will help (AWG2016) with logistics and communications.
Mittarfeqarfiit is now official sponsor of AWG2016 and it will be an exciting collaboration for both parties. The sponsorship, which AWG2016 has been granted by the Home rule Government, consists of exempt from airport charges for domestic flights for the athletes.
Mittarfeqarfiit has also pledged to assist with the logistical tasks when the athletes, their equipment and the audience arrive at Kangerlussuaq and Nuuk. Mittarfeqarfiit sponsorship consists exclusively of tax exemptions and working hours.
“We sponsor the athletes’ tax exemption on domestic flights. In addition to the athletes, there are a large number of visiting spectators who pay taxes on domestic flights. Foreign flights will also provide a major activity at the airports and thus taxes to Mittarfeqarfiit,” says the CEO of Mittarfeqarfiit, Jens Lauridsen.
In addition, the sponsor Mittarfeqarfiit becomes visible in the AWG2016:
“With AWG2016 we get an opportunity to make an active effort to promote Greenland abroad. Greenland Airports are the first and last guests experience in Greenland, and therefore it is only natural that we help to make such a big event like AWG2016 a success, “says Jens Lauridsen.
